iphone 4 gets really hot and actually loses battery life while charging

If it is still under warranty, please claim for that. And if not, just go to some mobile phone service shop and ask them to change the battery for you. Ask for the origonal.

My iphone 4, 6 weeks old,, the first 4 weeks was perfect, running 2 days with out a charge, now it runs very hot to touch, battery drains flat in less than one hour, no posted fixes work, reinstall no fix. there are hundreds of posts with this problem, turning off apps, push , 3 g, wifi have no benefit.

is there a viral app out there destroying iphone 4 s, it seems to be widespread. either that or apple is shipping rubbish batteries.

My iPod touch has had this problem for a month and I have had it since Christmas this year 2010

have you tried double tapping the home key and closing any in-memory app that appears at the bottom? maybe one has gone rampant on you.

Mine smelt like smoke while dropping battery charge as it was charging and then after turning it off and cooling it down it never turned on again. 😠

I only got mine this year in May...
